Grandma’s Greek Taste opened its doors at the Stewart Center in Alamo Heights in June 2025, but almost a year later, the business’s doors were locked up shortly after its retail strip home was acquired by new owners.
A lockout notice issued by Fifth Corner, a Houston-based investment firm, was posted to the entrance of Grandma’s Greek Taste on May 8, 2026. The notice is addressed to the restaurant’s owner, Saimir Pillana, citing unpaid rent and “related obligations” as the reasons behind the lockout. MySA last spoke to Pillana about the business ahead of its grand opening.
In March 2026, Fifth Corner partnered with San Antonio-based Headwall Investments to acquire the Stewart Center, according to a news release.
“Long a steady presence within the community, the property is entering a new phase under new ownership, with plans for a series of thoughtful upgrades, including enhancements to the exterior and overall environment,” the release said.
MySA reached out to representatives for Fifth Corner to inquire more about the lockout of Grandma’s Greek Taste, but we have not received a response. We also sent out an email to the restaurant directly after attempting to call its phone number led to a full voice mailbox. We will update this story if and when we hear back from any of the parties involved in this matter.
