Texas A&M baseball is entering the Southeastern Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed, having secured a double-bye after claiming the final regular-season series over Mississippi State. The Aggies will play in the quarterfinals Friday, facing either No. 6 Auburn or the winner of No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 14 LSU.
The Aggies are fighting to earn a top-eight seed in the NCAA Tournament. Doing so would give them the right to host the regional round and potentially a super regional.
At No. 10 in D1 Baseball’s top 25 rankings, Texas A&M’s fate could swing either way. There are 10 SEC teams in the top 25, meaning a strong run through the tournament might be enough for A&M to seal a top eight berth. Leaving Hoover, Ala., without a win might do major damage to its resume.

D1 Baseball currently projects Texas A&M to be the No. 8 seed by the time the NCAA Tournament rolls around. It’s be joined by No. 24 Cincinnati, UTSA, and Binghamton. In this prediction, Georgia wins the SEC Tournament.
Cincinnati is second in its conference standings behind Kansas. It’s the only other Big 12 team besides the Jayhawks within the top 25 in RPI. UTSA is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming American Athletic Conference Tournament, but it earns an at-large bid in this bracket. If the top regional teams win out, the Aggies would host the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in the super regionals.
Baseball America also has Texas A&M earning the No. 8 seed. No. 25 Coastal Carolina, Virginia Tech and Saint Joseph’s round out the group. The Chanticleers were the top Sun Belt team before losing their final two conference series of the season. They’re 24th in RPI and are headlined by Cameron Flukey, who’s projected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.
The advancing team could face No. 9 Florida, the projected host of the Gainesville Regional.
