CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man is behind bars after Bee County investigators say he was involved in a deadly shooting that left a 42-year-old woman dead.

According to the Bee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded early Saturday morning to the 200 block of Treptow Road in the Blueberry Hill area after reports of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities say she died from her injuries.

Investigators later identified Tomas Suniga Jr. as the suspect in the case. Deputies arrested him Saturday afternoon along U.S. Highway 181.

Suniga was booked into the Bee County Jail on a murder charge.

Officials have not released the identity of the victim or additional details surrounding the investigation. The case remains under investigation.
