Three people were shot at a popular San Antonio bar after a fight escalated into a shooting early on Thursday, May 21, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
According to a source who spoke with police, an altercation broke out inside La Carreta Bar & Grill, located at 3915 San Pedro Ave., near Olmos Park on the north central side of San Antonio.
The shooting happened at 2:04 a.m. after bar security escorted the individuals involved in the fight outside, the police report states. The bar is open Wednesday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., according to its social media.
The fight continued in the parking lot, where one man who was kicked out of the bar allegedly pulled out a gun and fired several rounds near a crowd, authorities say. Police say the unknown suspect struck three males, whose ages are 23, 19, and 21, in the lower parts of their bodies.
All of the victims took themselves to the hospital before officers arrived and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, SAPD says. The alleged shooter fled the scene of the crime.
The SAPD is actively investigating. No information on the suspect is available, and no arrests have been made, authorities say. Police say the preliminary information is subject to change. MySA reached out to La Carreta Bar & Grill with a request for comment.
