EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso’s Border Patrol Sector held a memorial ceremony on Thursday for fallen officers.

The ceremony, held at Socorro Independent School District’s Student Activities Complex, highlighted the stories of those who have died in the line of duty.

The ceremony honored over 160 agents who have died, as families of those who have fallen were present to help share their stories.

“Today we’re here to honor and remember the 161 border patrol agents who have sacrificed their lives to help keep this country safe. But it’s also about the agents and the law enforcement officers who are still out there doing the job today,” Rodney Scott, Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner, said.
