Lightning reportedly was the cause of a house fire at 903 Whispering Sands in Port Aransas during the predawn hours of Tuesday, May 19. No one was home at the time of the blaze, which inflicted heavy damage on the house. Members of the Port Aransas Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the fire, which erupted about 5 a.m.
