Bring the kids to the pool at the Port Aransas Community Park for a movie night on Friday, May 22.
“The SpongeBob Movie” will be shown on a big screen beside the pool.
All ages are invited to swim or lounge beside the pool during the showing.
The pool will open at 8 p.m., and the movie will begin shortly after.
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by adults. Please note that outside inflatables are not permitted, and the deep end will be closed for this event. The movie is rated PG. It includes “potty humor” and some mildly scary images, according to the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department, host of movie night.
“The story follows SpongeBob on a daring deep-sea adventure to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs. Alongside Patrick, he ventures into the Underworld with the Flying Dutchman, while his friends work to bring him back home,” said a news release from parks and rec. No registration is required. Regular pool entry fees will be charged.
The Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department will provide lemonade and popcorn.
Kids under 2 get in free. Fees for kids 2 to 18 are $1 per person. Adults 19 to 59 pay $2 per person. Folks 60 and up will be charged $1 per person.
Port Aransas Community Park is at 700 Ross Ave.
