The Oklahoma City Zoo and San Antonio Zoo are getting in on the Western Conference Finals rivalry after making a wager on who will win. The Thunder and Spurs are squaring off in a highly anticipated series between the top two seeds in the West. Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs took Game 1, and back-to-back Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder evened the series with a Game 2 victory. While things are heated on the court, the zoos are having a bit of fun. Per their wager, the losing zoo must fly the opposing team’s flag for a full day. “Get ready to fly the orange and blue at the end of the series,” the Oklahoma City Zoo posted to Facebook. The San Antonio Zoo said the rivalry goes back to 2018 when the Oklahoma City Zoo sent an African wild dog named “Thunder.” “Just like Wemby and Chet, we have some longstanding beef too, we never forgot, and we’ve been patiently waiting years for payback,” The San Antonio Zoo posted with a reel of animals watching Wembanyama’s highlights from his 41-point performance in Game 1. The tied Western Conference Finals shifts from Oklahoma City to San Antonio for Games 3 and 4 before returning to Loud City for Game 5. More games are possible, depending on how the next three go.
