Man, 80, hurt in collision at Frankford Avenue and 19th Street
LUBBOCK, TX, (May 18, 2026) – An 80-year-old man was injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident involving a Lubbock Police Department (LPD) vehicle, according to officials.
Ronald Exum was injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision involving at police car at the intersection of Frankford Avenue and 19th Street in Lubbock.
Authorities say Ronald Exum was operating a passenger vehicle southbound on Frankford Avenue at about 1:34 p.m. Around that time, an LPD vehicle traveling westbound on 19th Street entered the intersection against a red light while responding to an officer requesting help and collided with Exum’s car.
Exum was moderately injured and was transported to University Medical Center for treatment.
The officer driving sustained minor injuries.
An investigation is underway.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
