A man accused of sexually assaulting children in East Texas was arrested in Iowa while going by a different name.
In February 2025, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office were received a report from an adult victim alleging she was sexually assaulted as a child in November 2000 in Franklin County. Investigators were informed the suspect, Adrian Villalon Hernandez (now 60-years-old) was using a different name on social media, and believed to be living out of state.
Investigator Randal Lain confirmed Hernandez had now been going under the name Reynaldo Hernandez Villalon, and was residing in Kanawha, Iowa, and had obtained a Minnesota driver’s license.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office in Iowa were contacted and assisted Franklin County investigators to identify Hernandez. Lain and Texas Ranger David Stewart traveled to Iowa and arrested Hernandez on three counts of indecency with a child. He now resides in Wright County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Texas.
Since Hernandez’s arrest, more victims have come forward with information, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said.
“I want to commend Investigator Randal Lain for his persistent, detailed work on this case, his determination brought clarity to a 20-year-old crime and ensured a dangerous offender was located and taken into custody,” Sheriff Ricky Jones said in a statement Friday. “I would also like to thank Texas Department of Public Safety Colonel Freeman Martin for providing aircraft support, which allowed us to move quickly, as well as Texas Ranger David Stewart for his critical assistance throughout this investigation.”
