HOUSTON, TEXAS – A man is dead and another is recovering after a shooting late Thursday night at a Houston apartment complex, according to authorities.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 10 p.m. Thursday at Pine Gardens Apartments, located at 8650 Pitner Road. Houston Police Department officers arrived to find one adult male with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second adult male sustained two gunshot wounds to the upper extremities. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition.
According to investigators, the victims and the suspect all reportedly lived in the general area. Authorities say the group may have been drinking together before an argument broke out.
The victims were attempting to leave the situation when the suspect opened fire, police said. The surviving victim provided officers with a description of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle.
The Houston Police Department is handling the investigation. No arrests have been reported at this time.
