The American Rodeo Showdown Round will kick off on a big Saturday in one of the biggest days in Western sports from Arlington, TX.
The American Rodeo continues this Memorial Day Weekend when the afternoon slate gets underway on FOX Sports 1 for the American Rodeo Showdown Round on Saturday. This is the first event of the final day of this premiere day in rodeo. This will be followed by the American Rodeo Championship round later tonight at 5 p.m. ET on FOX. This Showdown Round will consist of all eight traditional rodeo disciplines, which include Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Bull Riding, Breakaway, Bareback Riding, Barrel Racing, and Team Roping. Across all of these disciplines, there will be a Round of 10 featuring the top five qualifying contenders from Friday’s semifinal rounds, who will face off against the top five pros from the PRCA/WPRA World Standings. All of this will go down at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX, the home of the MLB’s Texas Rangers. This is one of the biggest nights in all of Western sports with a chance at a $2 million payout. This is the 13th year of the American Rodeo Championship, and it will be an even bigger event, featuring a special performance by country music star Chris Young. There will be something for everyone out in Arlington starting this afternoon.

Some standout performances on Friday came from Dalton Massey in the steer wrestling competition, with a time of just 4.09 seconds to move on to Championship Saturday. Also moving on for the shot at the payout tomorrow are brothers-in-law Dustin Egusquiza and JC Flake, who are roping partners who put up a 3.41-second time on Friday. A final standout from Friday’s competition came from breakaway roper Madison Outhier, posting a time of a blazing 1.95 seconds to move on to the final day.
