FORT WORTH – Sue Carson Morrison, age 99, passed away May 15, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Madill, Oklahoma on November 18, 1926. Sue grew up in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, graduating from Pascal High School in Fort Worth. She attended North Texas Agricultural College (now the University of Texas at Arlington) and Texas Christian University, taking coursework in chemical engineering and education. Sue met her husband, Eric Denis Morrison (Denis), while attending N. Tx. Ag. College. They were married for 63 years until Denis’ passing. They had two sons, Joseph Eric and Michael Denis Morrison. Interment: Sue will be interred with Denis at Greenwood Memorial Park at a later date. Sue was creative, highly intelligent, and adventurous. These qualities shone in her endeavors throughout her life. As a teenager she learned to fly a Piper Cub plane. She was active in her sons’ schools, staging a Halloween carnival and several talent shows. Her family fondly remembers her baking prowess, sewing and crochet artistry, hospitality, and Thanksgiving dinners that included a different pie for each person at the table. Sue and Denis founded a small printing company that printed the bus schedules for the city of Fort Worth. When her sons were older, she worked for Stripling Department Store as an advertising copywriter. Following retirement, Sue and Denis divided their time between Fort Worth and their mountain cabin outside of Taos, New Mexico. They did the majority of the work renovating the cabin and making the property habitable themselves. They named their mountain home La Casita de Poco Reposo, a place of great enjoyment that kept them busy. Sue was a member of Ridglea Christian Church and served in the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Sue is survived by her sons Joseph Morrison and wife, Pat, and Michael Morrison and wife, Helen; granddaughters: Kate Nicholson and husband, Stephen, Kelly Smith and husband, Mark, and Colleen Barry and husband, Pearce; great grandchildren, Alaina Smith, Emi Smith, Erin Barry, and Ronan Barry; and three nieces and one nephew; Callie, Sue’s devoted calico cat, has settled happily into her loving adoptive home. The Morrison family expresses sincere thanks to the staff at Brookdale Westover Hills senior living for their professional and tender care. Memorial donations may be made in Sue’s honor to Ridglea Christian Church, Saving Hope Animal Rescue, or a charity of one’s choice.
