HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting stemmed from a video game console sale meetup at a north Harris County apartment, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, officers responded to a 911 call at the Cranbrook Forest Apartments at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in the 13800 block of Ella Boulevard and W. Rankin Road, where two men were shot.

Based on preliminary investigation, authorities say that the 38-year-old victim came over to sell a PlayStation console to the other victim, believed to be 20 years old. Officials said that a third man approached them, where an argument led to gunfire. It remains unclear who shot whom. The third man, who is unidentified, fled the scene. Police say they are unsure if he was hit.

Law enforcement says that the victim, believed to be 20 years old, was pronounced dead on the scene, while the 38-year-old was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

An investigation is still ongoing.
