The No. 2 Longhorns had been dominant over the first two months of the season and a perfect 7-0 on the road. A&M had been on a tear of its own lately winning its last five matches in no more than four sets after an Oct. 8 loss to Kentucky. That is, until Friday.

Coming into the match, A&M has one of the most efficient offenses in the country thanks to the Waak finding Lednicky and Stowers. The latter pair had combined for 469 kills. The Aggies also have the No. 7 blocker in the country coming into the night in middle blocker Ifenna Cos-Okpalla.

After beating Tennessee in five sets, Texas had take down every team it had played in either three or four sets. But the Aggies proved to be too much, winning the first two sets then eking out the final one.
