ARLINGTON, Texas — The Houston Astros added another historic chapter to the franchise record books Monday night, throwing a combined no-hitter against the Texas Rangers. Houston won the game, 9-0.
Starter Tatsuya Imai pitched six innings before Steven Okert worked the seventh. Alimber Santa closed out the game in the final inning to secure the combined no-hitter for Houston. Santa was making his Major League debut.
Monday’s performance was the franchise’s fifth combined no-hitter and the 18th no-hitter overall in Astros history. The Houston Astros have thrown more no-hitters than any other MLB team since 1962.
Christian Walker had three RBIs and Yordan Alvarez and Nick Allen added two apiece for the Astros, who have now won four straight games.
