One of the most well-known names in jewelry is closing a store in North Texas.
Tiffany & Co. is shuttering its site at Galleria Dallas at the end of this month, according to a sign announcing the closure at the mall.
“We look forward to welcoming you at our other Dallas-area locations, including NorthPark Center and Legacy West, as well as The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth,” the sign said.
The closure follows another mall exit with Nordstrom, an anchor, shuttering in recent days. The department store said it would be best able to serve customers “in the area by leveraging our surrounding stores and through our digital channels.”
The retail industry in North Texas continues to add stores and new names, but that doesn’t mean the region is escaping closures. Names such as Patagonia, Albertsons and Weir’s Furniture have announced the closure of Dallas-area shops.
Tiffany & Co. was founded in New York City in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany and has since grown into a global brand, according to its website. It has more than 300 stores worldwide.
The sign announcing the closure in Dallas noted that it will permanently close at 6 p.m. on May 31.
In a statement, Galleria Dallas said it’s grateful for Tiffany & Co.’s “years with us and remain energized by the momentum of what’s ahead — with new retailers continuing to join our lineup and even more announcements coming soon, the evolution of Galleria Dallas is well underway.”
