Early voting results show Alexander Hale and Christian Menefee have taken early leads in two key runoff elections for United States House of Representatives races, as well as Jon Bonck and Richard Davis.
The results are in
Republican candidates for U.S. House District 7, Hale and Tina Cohen, were sent to the runoff after neither candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the March 3 primaries, per previous reporting.
Hale now leads Cohen in the runoff with 63.80% of the vote, or 7,110 votes. Cohen has received 4,034 votes, or 36.20% of the vote, with 7% of polling locations reporting.
Democratic candidates Menefee and Al Green were also sent to a runoff election for U.S. House District 18 after the March primary votes were split 41% and 47%, respectively.
Early voting results show that Menefee, who is acting as an interim representative for District 18, is leading Green by more than double the votes, with 16,757 votes cast in his favor, or 70.42% of the vote. Green has garnered 7,039 votes, or 29.58% of the votes, with 7% of polling locations reporting.

In the Democratic runoff race for District 14, Davis has a slight lead over candidate Thurman Bill Bartie. With 36% of polling locations reporting, Davis has 4,724 votes, or 50.16%, while Bartie trails with 4,711 votes, or 49.84% of the votes.
On the other hand, Bonck has a clear lead over Shelly Dezevallos in the Republican showdown for District 38. With only 1% of polling locations voting, Bonck has received 21,1441 votes cast in his favor, or 65.36% of the votes, while Dezevallos has 11,364 votes or 34.64% of the votes.

Selected races include only contested U.S. House seats that fall within Community Impact’s Houston coverage zone and that were sent to a runoff election after the March primaries, which include District 7 and District 18.
U.S. House District 7 covers West University Place, Bellaire and a portion of the Houston Heights and stretches out toward Sugar Land and Mission Bend. The winner of the Republican primary runoff race will face Democratic nominee and incumbent Lizzie Fletcher in the November midterm election.
U.S. House District 18, following congressional redistricting that takes effect in January 2027, will cover portions of southwest, central and northeast Houston. The winner of the race will face Republican candidate Ronald Dwayne Whitefield in the November midterm election.
