The City of Dallas scheduled another mosquito control spraying this week after samples tested positive for West Nile Virus.

The city published a press release with the details on Tuesday. According to the release, the spraying will take place between 9 p.m.- 5 a.m. each night from Wednesday, May 27 to Thursday, May 28.

The first area to be sprayed is generally bounded by 200 Lakeridge Dr.; Lynford Dr. on the north; N. Buckner Blvd. on the west; Lullwater Dr. on the east; and Brookhurst Dr. on the south.

The second area to be sprayed is within an area bounded by 3600 Bickers St.; Canada Dr. on the north; Norco St. on the west; Jenny Dale Dr. on the east; and Singleton Blvd. on the south.

While the United States Environmental Protection Agency approves the insecticide for treatment, residents in the above areas should avoid contact with the spray by staying indoors.

People inside a vehicle while the trucks are actively spraying should remain there with the windows up and the air conditioner on until the trucks pass through and the spray is no longer visible.

Anyone outside during the scheduled spraying time should be alert for trucks and not follow them. Residents who do come into contact with the spray should wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water.

Additionally, Dallas residents are urged to take precautions against mosquito bites by reducing outdoor activity during the evening and nighttime hours. Residents who are outside during these times should cover their arms and legs and use mosquito repellent.
