TruFit Athletic Clubs is bulking up its San Antonio presence. The Alamo City-based fitness chain is opening a new gym inside the Lockhill Village Shopping Center at 2323 Lockhill Selma Rd., formerly home to a Gold’s Gym, by the end of 2025.

The new 35,000-square-foot gym sits in a prime, family-oriented pocket of Northwest San Antonio and will feature all the amenities that have made TruFit a go-to for local fitness enthusiasts. The chain says it’s the only “high-value, low-price gym” in the area to offer a pool and aqua fitness classes.

Members can also expect state-of-the-art equipment, group fitness classes, functional training zones, a women-only workout area, a kids club, a relaxation and recovery zone, and boutique-style programming like Combo6 boxing workouts and TruPower high-intensity interval training sessions.

Founded in San Antonio in 2006, TruFit has grown to 40 locations across Texas and Tennessee — and the company’s community-focused approach is on full display with the upcoming launch. Every dollar collected from pre-opening membership sales will be donated to Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA), a nonprofit supporting children who have experienced abuse and neglect in Bexar County.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding our footprint in San Antonio with the addition of our newest location at Lockhill,” said Joe Pritchard, CEO of TruFit Athletic Clubs, in a press release. “Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to continue building clubs where our members can connect, feel supported, and work toward becoming the most powerful version of themselves.”

With memberships starting at $6.50 every two weeks, TruFit aims to be affordable. As with any gym memberships, check the fine print for stipulations and annual fees. For more information or to lock in Founding Member pricing, visit the website.
