CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County officials announced Tuesday that the planned closure of Bob Hall Pier has been delayed because of expected stormy weather in the Coastal Bend.

According to a county news release, the closure originally scheduled to begin this week will now start Thursday, May 28 at 5 a.m. and continue through Friday, May 29 at 5 p.m.

The updated schedule shortens the closure from the previously planned four days down to two.

County officials say the closure is necessary to allow crews to complete inspections and related work on the pier. During that time, the entire pier will be closed to public access.

Barricades and caution tape will be placed around the work zone, and construction personnel will remain on site throughout the closure.

Officials are asking the public to avoid the area and respect the work zone so crews can safely and efficiently complete the project and reopen the pier by Friday evening.
