From Japanese fan celebrations to giant watch parties, Plano is preparing for a summer filled with soccer
As FIFA World Cup 2026 excitement begins building across North Texas, Plano is quickly emerging as one of the region’s biggest destinations for soccer fans looking to celebrate beyond the stadium.
With international visitors expected throughout the region this summer, Plano businesses, entertainment districts and restaurants are planning weeks of soccer-themed events, fan activations and watch parties designed to turn the city into a World Cup gathering hub.
From Japanese supporter celebrations in Downtown Plano to giant viewing parties at Legacy Hall and immersive soccer activations at Legacy West, fans will have no shortage of ways to experience the tournament.
Japan Day: Ultras Meets Plano
One of the most unique events arrives the evening before Japan’s featured match against the Netherlands.
On June 13, supporters from Japan and North Texas soccer communities will gather at McCall Plaza in the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District for Japan Day: Ultras Meets Plano.
Hosted by Ultras Nippon, the open community event aims to connect Plano and Japan through soccer culture and live entertainment.
The celebration begins at 6 p.m. and will feature:
Live music
Japanese DJ performances
Food and drinks
Full bar service
Fan cheer exchanges between Japanese supporters, Ultras Nippon and FC Dallas supporters
Legacy West Turns Into A Soccer Basecamp
Legacy West is also leaning heavily into the World Cup atmosphere with weeks of soccer-themed activations planned throughout the tournament.
The district will officially kick things off on June 4 with the grand opening of a new flagship Adidas store, helping cement Legacy West as a major soccer shopping and fan destination during the tournament.

Legacy Hall Hosting “Summer Of Soccer”
Just steps away, Legacy Hall plans to host a full Summer of Soccer celebration from June 12 through July 19.
The massive food hall and entertainment venue will transform into one of North Texas’ largest public watch-party destinations, featuring giant screens throughout the property and in the Lexus Box Garden.

Fans wanting a more local and walkable experience can also explore the Lone Star Food Tour in Downtown Plano.
The concept encourages visitors to move between multiple restaurants and bars throughout the district while watching matches across different venues and atmospheres.
Instead of remaining in one crowded location, attendees can enjoy rotating food, drinks and game-day energy throughout Downtown Plano’s growing entertainment scene.
Granite Park Hosts Soccer Celebration Market
On July 10, The Boardwalk at Granite Park will host a special Soccer Celebration Market from 6–10 p.m.

Family-friendly activities
The market will be hosted in partnership with Lively Local Markets.
Hidden FIFA Merchandise Vending Machine
Fans searching for tournament merchandise can also stop by The Shops at Legacy, where a hidden FIFA-themed vending machine will offer merchandise including:
