Sunbelt Rentals plans to add more than 5 acres to its Grapevine location along Texan Trail.
Grapevine City Council unanimously approved a conditional-use permit and rezoning request for 5.13 acres during a joint meeting with the planning and zoning commission May 19.
The details
The company plans to use the expansion for the display and storage of heavy machinery and equipment, according to city documents. The approval also greenlit the addition of six electric vehicle charging stations and dedication of seven existing parking spaces for the stations.
Director of Planning Services Erica Marohnic said the more than 5-acre tract was a former oil and gas drilling site for Chesapeake Energy.
Additionally, the 5.13 acres will be incorporated into the existing 22.32-acre Sunbelt site, per city documents.
What else?
Council initially approved plans for the Texas Trail facility, which includes a training center and regional headquarters, in 2023.
