WATAUGA – David Ray Oldham, 86, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. A visitation will be held to honor David from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, in the Breyley Suite at Mount Olivet Chapel, 2301 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76111. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on the same day at Bluebonnet Memorial Park in Colleyville. David was born in Paducah, Texas, to Louise and James David Oldham on August 19, 1939. He attended Keller High School and graduated in 1957. David later married the love of his life, Billie, in 1962, and together they shared 63 years of loving marriage. He was a deeply kind, funny, and loving man who brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. He had a playful spirit, never took life too seriously, always joking and being goofy with the people he loved. David was also a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather who treasured his family. He loved spending time with all the kids, whether it was taking them on tractor rides around his yard or having them help plant seeds in his garden. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. David had a lifelong passion for fishing and loved sharing that time with family. He also enjoyed gardening. He grew everything from tomatoes and potatoes to even giant pumpkins! He was an excellent woodworker who was always building, repairing, or tinkering with something in his shed. If something was broken, He could fix it. He also had a passion for hunting and tending to his chickens. He loved working with his hands and being outdoors, and took pride in caring for the things and people he loved. His love for working with his hands was reflected throughout his life and career. In his early years, he built and installed retail fixtures, and he went on to spend nearly 34 years at Bell Helicopter, where he retired as a tube bender. During his time at Bell, he had the special joy of working alongside several of his brothers including Jim, John “Dode,” Wendel, and Henry, as well as his son, Mike. Before his years at Bell, David held many different jobs, including working in the service station business, delivering feed and lumber, operating a turkey farm, and doing janitorial and maintenance work for the school district. In addition to his work, he generously gave his time as a volunteer firefighter and youth baseball coach. No matter the role, David was dependable, hardworking, and always willing to use his skills to help others. David was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and James David Oldham; and brothers, James “Jim” Gordon Oldham, John “Dode” Wayne Oldham, Wendel Guy Oldham, and Richard Lee Oldham. He is survived by his beloved wife, Billie Oldham; children, Michael Oldham and wife, Cindy, Debbie Bombardier and husband, Fern, and Kenneth Oldham and wife, Deborah; grandchildren, Ashley Moore (Noah), Nick Bombardier (Wendy), Whitney Wright (Danny), Matthew Bombardier (Allison), Shelbey Hughes (Tyler), Christy Hoffman (Brandon), Faith Bombardier, Meesha Bombardier, Caleb Bombardier, Ryan Lynch, and Kari Leskovec; 21 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; sister, Joann Byram; brother, Henry Oldham (Judy); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
