A pedestrian was killed Monday after being hit by multiple vehicles in Richardson, police said in a statement. 

Officers responded to reports of a major accident at 9:44 p.m. in the 2400 block of the west frontage road of North Central Expressway.

Investigators determined an initial vehicle struck a person walking in the left lane of the roadway, according to the statement. The pedestrian was then struck again by a different vehicle. The drivers of the vehicles involved remained at the scene, according to the statement. The person died at the scene, according to police. 

The Richardson Police Department’s Special Crash Investigation Team is still conducting the investigation, which remains ongoing. The person killed has not been identified. 

No further information about the accident was immediately available.
