FORT WORTH – John Randall Blackmon, 75, a loving husband, dad, grandad, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 5 – 7p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite B, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:30 a.m. on June 1, 2026, at Terrace Acres Baptist Church, 632 N Las Vegas Trail, Fort Worth, Texas 76108. Graveside Service will follow at 1 p.m. on June 1, 2026, in Greenwood Memorial Park, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. John was born to Paul and Tommie Blackmon, in Alabama, on May 6, 1951. They moved to Texas in 1963, where he met the love of his life, Deborah Kay Brinkley. They married in 1971; he loved her with every fiber of his being and has missed her terribly since her passing in March of this year. The only thing he loved more than Deborah was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a longtime, faithful member of Terrace Acres Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught Bible class for many years. He also preached the sermon on occasion and had a beautiful voice, which he loved using to sing praises to God. Even as speech became difficult for him in the last few years, no one ever left John’s presence without hearing “God bless you” and “Jesus is good.” John’s passion was lifting up others and making them laugh through jokes, silly faces, and his willingness to be an absolute goofball. He was a talented computer programmer and manager, an avid gamer, and especially enjoyed time with family and friends at Possum Kingdom Lake or taking road trips across the country where he’d often explore on his own with the rest of us asking, “Where’s John?” He and Deborah epitomized their favorite saying, “Live Well, Laugh Often, and Love Much.” He is survived by daughter, Jennifer (Travis) Marsh; son, Joshua (Laura) Blackmon; grandchildren, Kirsten (Jesse) Bransom, Jordan Borock, Christian Borock, Taylor (Kyle) Bissol, Hunter Marsh, Garrett Blackmon, Tanner Blackmon, and Natalie Blackmon; great-grandchildren, Brayden Bissol and Raelynn Bissol; brother-in-law, David (Lahoma) Brinkley; sister-in-law, Deanna (Robert) Boyd; as well as several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
