For the second consecutive week, Arch Manning looked like the Texas football superstar he was expected to be before the beginning of the 2025 season.

Manning carved up the Vanderbilt defense all afternoon, leading the Longhorns to a 34-31 win over the No. 9 Commodores. The victory keeps Texas well within the College Football Playoff conversation, with the first CFP rankings set for release on Tuesday.

The redshirt sophomore quarterback completed 25 of his 33 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns.

For the first time all season, he benefited from time to throw, playing behind a Texas offensive line bolstered by the return of Cole Hutson, who slid in at left guard.

The first play of the game saw Manning connect with Ryan Wingo on a swing pass for a 75-yard touchdown. He also found CJ Baxter for a 6-yard touchdown on a bootleg play in the first half before closing out his account with a third-quarter touchdown pass to Emmett Mosley V on a slant pattern.

The performance came on the heels of a 346-yard, three-touchdown performance against Mississippi State.
