One man is dead, and another was injured after a stabbing early Friday morning near Everhart Road, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Officers were called to the 4600 block of Everhart Road around 1:41 a.m. in response to a reported stabbing.
When officers arrived, they learned two men had already been taken to a local hospital with stab wounds. Police said one of the victims later died from his injuries.
Detectives with the department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
According to a preliminary investigation, the disturbance began at a nearby business. Those involved were separated and left the area. Police said a second disturbance later broke out in a nearby parking lot, where the two men were stabbed.
Several people were detained and questioned by investigators. Police believe the people involved knew each other.
No arrests have been announced.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue to follow up on leads.
