This October, we saw an uptick in closures across San Antonio, with a number of restaurants, bars and bakeries calling it quits throughout the month. Several places that closed were open for decades in the Alamo City, so their closures have had a big effect on the local dining scene.
Without further ado, let’s take a look back at the food and drink businesses that closed up shop in October 2025.
Bandit BBQ & Burgers
After a short-lived comeback, this barbecue favorite unexpectedly closed for the second time on October 20. Bandit was only open for a few months before cutting its time short on San Antonio’s Northeast Side.

Chela’s Tacos

Good Time Charlie’s Bar & Cafe
After 46 years, Good Time Charlie’s Bar & Cafe closed its doors permanently as its property was acquired by the nearby DoSeum. Its final day of service was October 23.
Künstler Tap Haus
Künstler Tap Haus tapped out just two years into its run after dealing with near-constant construction outside of its home at Hemisfair. Its flagship brewery is still open off South Flores and LaChappelle.

Mash’d
The Rim lost another restaurant this year when Mash’d announced it would end service after October 29. The eatery later moved up its closing date to October 28, noting a strong brunch service the weekend before. This marks the fourth restaurant to close at the popular shopping center this year, following Tiago’s Cabo Grille, The General Public and Bowl & Barrel.
My Brother’s Bar
This downtown dive bar has been serving drinks on St. Mary’s Street for decades, but that tenure has been cut short under mysterious circumstances in recent days. When MySA attempted to visit the bar on a day and time it was supposed to be open, there were no signs of life.

Neon Moon Bakery
Neon Moon Bakery spent just seven months Northeast of San Antonio in the Bracken Village shopping area before closing. The business made the closure announcement in the days leading up to November 1, its final day of operations.
SL Asian Food
SL Asian Food is another business that lasted less than a year, serving fried rice and teriyaki chicken out of a hangar-shaped building on Culebra Road before ending its run due to an alleged family medical emergency.

The Good Kind
This Southtown restaurant announced a short break in July, but the restaurant never fully picked things back up. On October 10, MySA confirmed with owner Tim McDiarmid that the restaurant was indeed finished.

The Winchester
After eight years, the British pub was locked out of its home in Alamo Heights on October 17. The property president was able to confirm that The Winchester halted operations weeks before the lockout.
Web House
Web House inevitably closed less than a year after the death of longtime owner Mikhail “Mischka” Timofeyev. His husband, Manny Castaneda, told MySA that the customer base became less dedicated to the space after Timofeyev passed, so he decided to close.

This long-running Chinese food delivery business was locked out by its landlord on September 30, and we confirmed on October 3 that the business was closed.
