No. 7 national seed Tennessee (48-10) softball is playing No. 11 national seed Texas Tech (58-7) on Saturday in the College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The matchup is in the winner’s bracket and Tennessee is the home team. The Lady Vols won their opening game, 6-3, against Texas on Thursday. Texas Tech defeated Mississippi State, 8-0, in five innings.

Former Lady Vol Taylor Pannell led off the inning for Texas Tech and singled to center field. Kaitlyn Terry walked and the Red Raiders have runners at first and second base with no outs. Pannell stole third base and Terry stole second base. Lauren Allred was intentionally walked. Lagi Quiroga struck out swinging for a first out with the bases loaded. Desirae Spearman pinch hit for Logan Halleman and flied out to center field and Pannell scored.

Sage Mardjetko replaces Karlyn Pickens with two outs for the Lady Vols.
Mia Williams walked for Texas Tech and the bases are loaded with two outs. Mihyia Davis lined out to left field to end the top of the seventh inning.
Gabby Leach led off the bottom of the seventh inning for the Lady Vols and flied out in foul territory. Maddi Rutan struck out swinging for a second out.
