The Western Conference finals are nearing a conclusion that seemed inevitable. The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs were the NBA’s two best teams during the regular season. So a playoff series between them should go the full seven games. Here we are.
The two powerhouses have gone toe-to-toe, trading wins in the last four games. Yet after a classic Game 1 the Spurs won in double overtime behind 41 points and 24 rebounds from Victor Wembanyama, the subsequent five games in this series haven’t been particularly competitive. Will Game 7 on the Thunder’s home court be different?

Oklahoma City will be short-handed with its season and a potential second consecutive NBA championship at stake. Jalen Williams is out for Game 7 with a strained right hamstring after attempting to play in Game 6. Ajay Mitchell will also miss his fourth straight game with a right calf strain. The Spurs have no players listed on the injury report, though De’Aaron Fox has struggled through a sprained right ankle.
The New York Knicks await the winner for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, tipping off on Wednesday.

Spurs forward Harrison Barnes turns 34 today.
… and per a Statshead report pulled by Sports Reference’s Mike Lynch earlier this offseason, NBA players are a perfect 7-0 in Game 7s on their birthday.
Barnes actually accounted for one of those seven birthday wins back in 2016 with the Golden State Warriors … against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have ruled out Jalen Williams for Game 7 of the Western Conference finals. Williams has missed much of the series against the San Antonio Spurs with a lingering hamstring strain.
In the official injury report released Friday, Oklahoma City cited “injury management” for Williams’ absence. Ajay Mitchell has also been ruled out with a right calf strain.
Williams returned to the court in Game 6, playing 10 minutes of the Thunder’s 27-point loss and scoring just one point. Williams was questionable right up until game time and did not initially join the team for pregame warmups.

The San Antonio Spurs are back on the road Saturday night, headed to Oklahoma City as road underdogs in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals. Here’s a look at the game odds on FanDuel Sportsbook:

Moneyline odds: Thunder -152, Spurs +128
Coming off a disastrous performance in Game 6 that allowed the Spurs to force Game 7, the Thunder now have plus-odds (+130) to win the NBA Finals. Prior to tip off Thursday, the Thunder were -140 favorites to win the 2025-26 NBA Finals.
The Knicks are at +200 to win their first championship since 1999. The Spurs have the longest odds to win it all, though not by much, at +230.
