SAN ANTONIO – The Pearl came alive with the vibrant celebrations of Día de los Muertos.
The festivities kicked off at 10 a.m. with the Pearl Farmers Market, where visitors can immerse themselves in the rich cultural traditions of the day.
Attendees were treated to live mariachi performances, adding a lively soundtrack to the morning’s activities.
Throughout the day, the public can view beautifully crafted ofrendas, or altars, which honor the memories of loved ones.
Roaming entertainers and stilt walkers will provide captivating performances, enhancing the festive atmosphere across the campus.
Between noon and 2 p.m., guests saw the live creation of a traditional Tapete de Aserrín, a colorful sawdust carpet, showcasing the intricate artistry associated with the holiday.
As the day transitions into evening, the excitement continued at 8 p.m. with Visit San Antonio’s illuminated river parade barges at the amphitheater.
This procession offered a close-up view of the stunning floats, fresh from their journey along the parade route, providing a dazzling conclusion to the day’s celebrations.
