EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Diocese of El Paso is holding its 28th Annual Border Mass this morning, Saturday, Nov. 1, continuing a long-standing tradition of prayer and remembrance at the border.
The Mass begins at 10:00 a.m. and will be celebrated near the border fence by the old Ft. Bliss Historical Marker.
This symbolic location places the worship service at the center of the border where the United States and Mexico meet.
Since its establishment in 1997, this annual bi-national event has served to unite the communities of Ciudad Juárez, El Paso, and Las Cruces.
Together, they pray for migrants who have lost their lives while attempting to cross the southern border into the United States.
The gathering also represents the continued prayers of the Catholic faithful for the ongoing needs of migrants from South and Central America.
The entrance for attendees is at 1828-1844 West Paisano Drive, El Paso, TX, 79922, at the Old Fort Bliss Historical Marker.
