EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso City Council approved the sale of the historic A.B. Fall Mansion on Tuesday, May 26, paving the way for the property to move into private ownership after nearly two decades under City control.

Council approved the sale of the mansion, located at 1725 Arizona Ave., to Investor Edge Limited Company for approximately $840,500.

The mansion was built in 1907 for Albert Bacon Fall, a former New Mexico senator and U.S. secretary of the interior. The property has remained one of El Paso’s most recognizable historic homes for more than a century.

The City acquired the property in 2006 after concerns over its condition and invested millions of dollars in renovations and maintenance efforts over the years.

According to City records, El Paso has spent approximately $2.3 million on the property, including construction, architectural and design work, testing, inspections and roof repairs. The Central Appraisal District has valued the property at approximately $1.6 million.

City officials have said El Paso no longer has a municipal use for the mansion, prompting the decision to sell the property.

It remains unclear how the new owner will ultimately use the mansion. During council discussions, city representatives said the property could potentially continue as office space or be used as a private residence.

With council approval secured, the next step is for the property to officially transfer to its new owner, ending nearly 20 years of City ownership.
