The Dallas County sheriff’s office is investigating a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning that resulted in the death of a motorcycle passenger, according to a statement.
Deputies responded to the incident about 3 a.m. near the Field Street ramp to northbound Interstate 35.
Once on scene, investigators determined a motorcycle passenger, who has not yet been identified, had fallen off the motorcycle before being struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Deputies said the passenger was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The Field Street ramp and the connection between I-35 and Woodall Rodgers Freeway were closed during the investigation, the statement said.
No further information on the accident was immediately available.
