CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 26-year-old man was arrested after a confrontation with police led to an officer being injured by gunfire.
On May 29, 2026, at 3:38 p.m., Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a threat in progress at the 2100 block of Airline Rd., according to a press release from the department. Upon arrival, officers encountered Adan Martinez, age 26, inside the store. After a brief dialogue, Martinez attempted to flee, resulting in a struggle in the parking lot. During the altercation, a firearm concealed by Martinez discharged, striking an officer. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
