Two people died after a single-vehicle crash caused a car to burst into flames, police said.
HURST, Texas — Two people died overnight Sunday when they were involved in a single-vehicle crash, and their car burst into flames, Hurst police said.
Officers responded around 3:48 a.m. on May 31, to reports of a major crash in the 200 block of northbound Loop 820, the Hurst Police Department said in a press release.
Callers said that a single vehicle crashed into the embankment before bursting into flames, police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the vehicle on the shoulder of the highway, the release states.
When the fire was extinguished, officers found two people inside the vehicle, both of whom were declared dead at the scene, officials said.
The victims have not yet been identified, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
