DPS says the driver was hospitalized after a train struck the vehicle on a private road near Highway 77 north of Sinton.
SAN PATRICIO COUNTY, Texas — A dump truck driver was hospitalized Monday morning after a train collided with the vehicle near Highway 77 in San Patricio County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
DPS said the crash happened around 9:15 a.m. on a private road near the Welder Wildlife area along the northbound side of U.S. Highway 77, south of Edwards Street.
Authorities said a train struck the dump truck at the crossing.
The driver of the dump truck was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Officials have not released the extent of the driver’s injuries. No other injuries were immediately reported.

The crash remains under investigation by DPS.
