Arlington, TX (July 29, 2025) – Arlington welcomed a record-breaking 16.3 million visitors in 2024, generating $3.1 billion in visitor spending, according to the newly released Longwoods International 2024 Travel USA Visitor Profile Study. These numbers represent a 4.5% increase in visitation from 2023’s 15.6 million visitors and a substantial 10.5% surge in visitor spending from the previous year’s $2.8 billion.
“These impressive numbers show how Arlington continues to grow as one of America’s top entertainment destinations,” said Brent DeRaad, President and CEO of the Arlington CVB. “Our incredible restaurants and attractions, along with arts and culture, shopping, local events that draw visitors, and our universities contribute to what makes Arlington such a vibrant and exciting place to visit.”
The tourism boom coincided with Arlington hotels also setting room revenue records six times throughout 2024, with several key factors contributing to the record-breaking year:
Championship Sports Drive Major Visitation: MLB All-Star Week coupled with increased attendance at Texas Rangers games, following the team’s historic 2023 World Series championship, significantly boosted visitor numbers. The Dallas Cowboys maintained their position as the NFL attendance leader in 2024, hosting nine regular-season home games at AT&T Stadium.
New Venues Amplify Arlington’s Appeal: The opening of the Arlington Convention Center (ACC) and Loews Arlington Hotel was a massive addition to the city’s meetings and events sector, resulting in a record number of meetings and meetings-related hotel room nights. The debut of Drury Plaza Hotel further expanded accommodation options for visitors.
Entertainment Set Revenue Records: Major concerts filled Arlington’s iconic stadiums throughout the year, while the highly anticipated Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight at AT&T Stadium cemented November 2024 as the top revenue month in Arlington hotel history.
The 2024 results position Arlington as a continued leader in the competitive Dallas-Fort Worth tourism market, demonstrating the city’s ability to attract visitors through a compelling combination of sports excellence, entertainment innovation, and Texas hospitality.
