Early voting for the Hutto City Council Place 1 runoff election began June 1.
On the ballot
In the May 2 election in the race for Place 1, Jerrel W. Reynolds received the most votes with 41.9% of 984 ballots cast. Trailing Reynolds was Brandy McCool with 24.1% of the votes, Sarosh Jafri with 23.07% of the votes, and Luiz Dunham with 10.7%.
With no candidate receiving a majority vote, the race for Place 1 headed to a runoff election between Reynolds and McCool.
The current seat holder is interim council member Charles Warner, who was appointed June 8 after the resignation of former council member Brian Thompson on Dec. 22.
Early voting runs from June 1 through June 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Voting will take place at Hutto City Hall.
The runoff election day is June 13.
