Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force executed 21 search warrants at game rooms across the Houston area Monday morning in connection with illegal gambling.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that at approximately 9:30 a.m. Monday, the task force and several other Houston-area law enforcement agencies executed warrants in La Marque and surrounding areas.
The warrants followed an ongoing investigation into organized criminal activity and money laundering tied to illegal game room operations.

According to the post, the operation was intended to “disrupt and dismantle” an illegal gambling enterprise.
In addition to warrants executed at game rooms in La Marque and Alvin, authorities also carried out two in Fort Bend County and 12 at financial institutions. In Fort Bend County, teams searched the residence of the owner and operator of the Gold Chest game room, as well as a warehouse investigators believed was used to store and distribute illegal gambling machines.
