A surprise is brewing over at the Coastal Bend Food Bank.

And so far, all signs point to a choice being made at Whataburger Field…

In a cryptic Facebook post Monday, the Food Bank teased a countdown to Oct. 10, 2026, claiming that Corpus Christi has been “chosen.”

The post also included a link to a new page on the Coastal Bend Food Bank website titled “The Chosen Interfaith Celebration.” On it, the Food Bank confirms the following:

An event is happening Oct. 10, 2026 at Whataburger Field

The event is sponsored by Valero

The goal of the event is to unite the community and feed people facing food insecurity.

Tickets will be sold for the event

Sponsorship opportunities are available for people and businesses in the community

The page also confirms special guests will attend or perform at the event, with those announcements being made over the coming weeks.

People are already pondering the possibilities – with one commenter hoping for a George Strait appearance!
