El Paso offers free fans and cooling centers to beat the heat

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — As the summer starts heating up, the City of El Paso will be giving out free box fans to qualified individuals.

The Extreme Weather Task Force encourages those in need of a free fan to call 311 for availability and information.

Fire stations in the El Paso area are currently accepting donations of box fans.

Along with fans, the city is offering other ways to cool down during extreme heat conditions.

Cooling centers around El Paso will be open to the public as city officials urge the community to stay cool, stay hydrated, and always stay informed.

Cooling Centers
Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Galatzan Recreation Center – 650 Wallenberg Drive

Valle Bajo Community Center – 7380 Alameda Avenue

Nations Tobin Sports Center – 8831 Railroad Drive
