Newly released court documents provide additional details about the incident that left a Corpus Christi police officer wounded outside an AutoZone last Friday.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers were dispatched to the AutoZone at 2149 Airline Road after receiving reports of a customer threatening violence against another customer.
The caller told dispatchers the man was yelling, acting aggressively and repeatedly moving in and out of the store.
When officers arrived, they contacted the suspect, Adan Martinez and attempted to detain him based on the reported threats, the affidavit states.
Investigators said Martinez moved away from officers and did not comply with their efforts to detain him. As officers attempted to take him into custody, the suspect reached toward his waistband, leading to a struggle.
According to the affidavit, officers took Martinez to the ground, but he continued resisting. During the struggle, investigators allege he pulled a handgun from a holster on his waistband and fired a single shot.
The round struck Officer A. Grosclose in the leg, according to court documents. The Corpus Christi Police Department said the officer is in good condition and was released from the hospital that same day.
Despite the gunfire, officers were able to gain control of the weapon and take the suspect into custody.
The affidavit states Martinez had allegedly been acting aggressively toward customers before officers arrived and had threatened another person inside the store.
Martinez is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon.
The incident remains under investigation.
