2 women killed in crash involving 18-wheeler and sedan, police say

According to police, the crash happened on the eastbound Loop 280 near Holiday Lane at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Two women are dead after a crash Tuesday afternoon involving an 18-wheeler and the sedan both victims were in, North Richland Hills police said.

According to police, the crash happened on the eastbound Loop 280 near Holiday Lane at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

North Richland Hills Fire was called to the scene to pull the two women out of the sedan, officials said. Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene.

While the investigation is ongoing, police said there are no charges expected to be filed. 

Neither victim has been identified at this time. Police said the names of the victims will be released by the medical examiner after next of kin have been notified.

Eastbound lanes of the express way are still closed from Iron Horse Boulevard as the accident reconstructionist and the crime scene division complete their investigation.
