The suspect was wanted on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant
SWAT standoff at apartment (Houston Police Department)
HOUSTON – Houston police say a man is dead after shooting himself during a standoff with SWAT Tuesday evening.
The incident started around 5 p.m. in the 1200 block of Redford Street when members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force went to an apartment complex to serve a warrant on a suspect for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The suspect barricaded himself inside one of the units and a SWAT team was called in.
SWAT eventually made entry into the apartment where they discovered the suspect dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
