HUMBLE, Texas — A 16-year-old boy was flown to the Texas Medical Center after Harris County deputies say he was shot inside a home in the Humble area early Wednesday morning.

When deputies arrived, they said two teenage girls were waiting in the driveway and told them their brother had been accidentally shot by one of their friends.
This story continues below.
According to investigators, five teenagers were inside an upstairs room when the shooting happened.
Deputies said they found what they described as evidence that some type of crime had taken place upstairs inside the home.
The 16-year-old was driven by his mother to Memorial Hermann Hospital near East Sam Houston Parkway. From there, he was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center.
Investigators said the teenager they believe pulled the trigger did not remain at the scene.
Deputies also said they had not recovered the gun involved in the shooting. However, investigators said they found two spent cartridge casings and blood spatter inside the home.
As of Wednesday morning, deputies had not released the teen’s condition.
Authorities also have not released the identity of the person they believe may have shot him.
Investigators are continuing to work to determine exactly what led up to the shooting.
