A 19-year-old died after colliding with a vehicle in Richardson, police said.

RICHARDSON, Texas — A 19-year-old bicyclist was killed Monday after crashing into a vehicle, Richardson police said. 

Officers responded around 5:13 p.m. on June 1 to reports of a crash in the 1400 block of East Arapaho Road, the Richardson Police Department said in a press release. 

Investigators found the driver of a Toyota Avalon was exiting a parking lot and preparing to turn onto East Arapaho Road when a bicyclist, who was crossing the parking lot entrance and exit, collided with the passenger side of the Toyota.

The Richardson Fire Department responded to the scene and attempted to help the bicyclist, who was identified as 19-year-old Ngan Thi Xuan Nguyen, police said. He later died from his injuries, the release states. 

The driver of the Toyota was uninjured. He was the only person in the vehicle, officials said. 

The incident remains under investigation.
