Travelers do not have much control when it comes to ticket prices for flights, but how North Texans get to and from the airport can be one way to save a little bit of cash.
Between DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field, travelers have an array of transportation options. But figuring out which is best for the budget, while still timely, can be difficult when comparing costs depends on everything from the length of planned trips to the amount of luggage being carried.

Here’s what to know about how the different options compare.
How much does it cost to park at Love Field?
Travelers headed to Love Field can park at any of the airport’s three garages.
Garage A is closest to the terminal and costs $24 per day, according to the airport’s website. Garage B is slightly further, costing $21 per day or $18 per day for the uncovered roof spots. Garage C is also within walking distance to the airport’s ticketing hall and terminal. For covered levels of Garage C, including the Dallas Mavericks-themed second level, the garage costs $21 per day. The uncovered roof is $20 per day, while third level “premium” spots — which connect travelers directly to the airport’s Skybridge — are $30 per day. Premium spots allow travelers to bypass ticketing if they don’t need to check a bag or print boarding passes.

The airport also offers valet parking for an additional fee. Hourly rates are available for all three garages.
What are the parking options at DFW Airport?
DFW Airport also sports three parking choices. For each, the airport encourages booking online in advance and offers up to a 50% discount for those who do, according to its website.
Terminal parking, which connects to the airport’s terminals, costs $32 per day. Express parking is only a shuttle ride away from the terminals and costs $18 per day for uncovered spots and $21 for covered spots. North and south lots, just outside of the airport’s entry gates and connected to terminals via a shuttle, cost $14 per day.
What does it cost to Uber, Lyft to Love Field?
Travelers looking to utilize ride hailing services can gauge average prices with data available from Uber. According to Uber’s website, these average prices are calculated using ride data from the past 12 months. Prices are susceptible to surge pricing during busy times.

Lyft does not publish data on average ride prices, so travelers hoping to use Lyft should check current rates in the service’s app.
According to Uber, the average ride from downtown Dallas to Love Field is 29 minutes, costing an average of $42. Comfort rides, fitting four passengers with space for suitcases, average $67 and Uber XL rides, fitting 6 passengers, average $65.
The average ride from downtown Fort Worth to Love Field is 47 minutes, with the average route price amounting to $61 for an Uber X.
How much does it cost to Uber to DFW?
The average Uber ride from downtown Dallas to DFW Airport is 26 minutes, costing $40. An UberX averages $46, a Comfort ride $59 and an UberXL $64.

Ubers from DFW Airport to downtown Fort Worth take 35 minutes on average and cost $52.
What public transit options are available to Love Field?
DART’s Love Link bus connects riders between the airport’s ground transportation pickup lanes and the Inwood/Love Field rail station, granting passengers access to DART’s Green and Orange rail lines, according to the airport’s website. Rides are free from the airport to the station but cost $2.50 from the station to the airport and can be purchased with card, cash or via the GoPass app.
A single-day pass to utilize local DART services such as the rail lines is $6, while a 3-hour pass is $3. Reduced fares are available for qualifying passengers, including veterans and seniors, who apply online. Passes can be purchased on platforms at DART Ticket Vending Machines or via the GoPass app.
Does public transit connect to DFW Airport?
DFW Airport travelers may utilize three public transit options, laid out on the airport’s website.

Travelers at DFW may connect from the airport’s terminals to downtown Dallas via train using the Orange Line; Plano, Richardson, Addison, Coppell and Carrollton using the Silver Line; and to Fort Worth using the Trinity Railway Express and Trinity Metro’s TEXRail.
Riding the TEXRail and TRE services requires a regional pass rather than a local one, costing $9 for the day.
One-way passes for the TRE are available for $6 and must be purchased on the GoPass app.
