Police said the woman was thrown from a vehicle after it struck a barrier and rolled over early Wednesday morning.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 38-year-old woman died after being thrown from a vehicle during a rollover crash on the flyover connecting westbound State Highway 358 and northbound State Highway 286 early Thursday morning, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Police said the crash happened around 2:37 a.m. on the ramp connecting westbound South Padre Island Drive to northbound Crosstown.
Investigators said a single vehicle struck a concrete barrier and rolled over. During the crash, the 38-year-old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
Police said the woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Police said the crash investigation remains ongoing and the official crash report has not yet been completed.
As of Thursday morning, the driver had not been cited or charged in connection with the crash. However, police said that could change as the investigation continues.
The woman’s identity has not yet been released.
